POSITION TITLE: DIRECT SALES REPRESENTATIVE
DEPARTMENT: DIRECT MARKETING
REPORTS TO: MANAGER OF DIRECT SALES
SUMMARY:
Develops and promotes the sale of VantisLife's Term/Whole Life insurance and Annuity products to existing clients and new prospects through leads originated by Direct Marketing Campaigns.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Develops Life Insurance and Annuity new business.
a. Utilizes company resources to contact leads received through
Direct Marketing leads, website or telephone inquiries to
generate sales.
b. Develops conversion sales through use of computer generated
lists, written correspondence and telephone follow-up for cross
sell opportunities.
c. Works with Underwriting Department on issues dealing with
approvals.
d. Achieves or exceeds predetermined quarterly sales goals.
2. Assumes responsibility for the Sales Servicing function.
a. Accepts calls from policyholders and applicants; expedites
requests for information or service.
b. Maintains friendly and professional telephone manner with all
customers.
c. Stays current with new product development and general
knowledge of the VantisLife Insurance Company.
d. Reviews and stays current on Statutory Law regulations for
possible impact to VantisLife it's products and it's customers.
e. Monitors weekly past due policies report to minimize impact on
written business.
f. Maintains 95% efficiency ratio on applications taken.
g. Maintains less than 10% ratio for withdrawn applications and
takes appropriate action assist in maintaining applications and
policies not taken.
3. Assumes responsibility for Sales Planning function.
a. Completes appropriate Goldmine Database entries for updated
reporting.
b. Takes initiative in suggesting ideas for new sales programs.
c. Reviews sales reports.
d. Assists member banks with direct sales opportunities, as needed.
4. Assists Manager of Direct Sales.
a. Assists Manager of Direct Sales with numerous sales related
functions, as needed.
b. Works in conjunction with Manager of Direct Sales on strategic
sales planning issues.
5. Assumes additional duties as requested.
EDUCATION:
High School Diploma or Equivalent. Must have a valid Connecticut Life Insurance License.
EXPERIENCE:
1-2 years life sales experience or equivalent life insurance "on-line" customer service experience.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
Ability to effectively communicate both in oral and written format. Basic computer skills which include company sales specific software applications. The ability to develop and maintain favorable relationships with new and existing clients in order to increase revenue. Ensures that VantisLife products consistently meet the client's needs.

POSITION TITLE: ACTUARIAL ANALYST
DEPARTMENT: ACTUARIAL
REPORTS TO: CHIEF ACTUARY

Summary:
Assists Actuary in product pricing, cashflow testing, ALM analyses, financial modeling, and testing of various financial, administrative, illustration and reserving systems. Assists in product development, financial reporting and analysis.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Actively participates in Product Development initiatives by Pricing
products as needed.
a. Obtains proficiency in TAS and other systems for pricing.
b. Develops and tests appropriate assumptions for product pricing.
2. Develops and tests Financial Models for profitability and risk
measurement.
a. Assesses profitability of existing and new products.
b. Develops payout rates for annuities.
c. Maintains familiarity with the latest techniques and tools for
financial modeling.
3. Participates in testing of various financial, administrative,
illustration, and reserving systems.
a. Develops model for testing reserves, cash values, and dividends
from various systems.
b. Assists in development of design specifications for various
systems.
4. Assists Actuary in ALM and cashflow testing functions.
a. Incorporates necessary assumptions into cashflow testing model.
b. Runs various scenarios and determines accuracy of results.
c. Works with Investment Dept. in modeling asset and liabilities.
d. Monitors surplus, BCAR and RBC ratios.
5. Assists in financial reporting and analysis.
a. Assists Actuary and Controller in preparation of statutory and
GAAP financial reports, including timely and accurate preparation
of reserve and liability reports, RBC reports, AM Best reports, AVR
and IMR calculations.
b. Assists Controller in periodic balancing of various accounts.
c. Assists Actuary and Controller in development and maintenance
of expense allocation model.
d. Prepares GAAP benefit reserves and DAC on regular basis.
e. Prepares GAAP analytics to validate reserves and DAC.
6. Prepares and maintains various monthly and quarterly financial
reports from various administrative and valuation systems extracts
for senior management, actuarial and accounting departments.
7. Assumes additional duties as requested.
Education:
Masters Degree.
Experience:
0-2 years of experience in the actuary field in Life Insurance.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
Must have passed at least one actuarial exam. Conducts analysis, pricing and risk assessment to estimate financial outcomes. Applies knowledge of mathematics, probability, statistics, principles of finance and business to calculations in life insurance and annuities. Strong familiarity with Excel, Access, Word. Familiarity with C++.
